Fixed buffer stops are based on the original form of the buffer stops and are nowadays installed in places where the length of the tracks does not provide enough space for the use of friction buffer stops. They do not absorb energy, prevent the vehicles from rolling away and mark the end of the tracks. Whereas buffer stops were still stationary at the beginning of the 19th Century, Franz Rawie developed a version that could be positioned anywhere, this forming the basis for the further developed form that we are still manufacturing today.
